Bonnie J. King of Overland Park, KS, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the age of 92. She was born on July 3rd, 1926 in Louisville, Mississippi. She was the devoted wife of J.B. King; loving mother of David Earl Funchess and John Parker (Ronda) Funchess and cherished grandmother of April Dawn (Chad) Tebbe, Kyle Taylor (Sara) Funchess and Tyler Matlock (Lynda) Funchess. Bonnie was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd Funchess Jr, her parents, Richard Taylor Parker and Bessie Alewine Parker and her siblings, Ruby Fortenberry and Billie Parker.
Besides being a dedicated housewife, Bonnie was at one time a substitute teacher in Wesson, MS as well as a secretary. She attended Belhaven College in Jackson, MS. Later in life, she also earned her real estate license and was an agent for several years in the Overland Park area.
Bonnie was an excellent cook, loved to sew and traveled the world. She was also an accomplished bridge player and for a time, even a square dancer. But one of her biggest joys was to spend time with her family and large circle of friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
