Alan R. Mohr of Overland Park, KS passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 at his home. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, but perhaps his most cherished title was the one bestowed by his grandchildren of “Papa.”
Alan was born December 31, 1935 in Clifford, IN. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1954. He received a BS degree in business from University of Dayton after serving four years in the U.S. Air Force.
Alan retired from the AgriBusiness industry after over 50 years in the field. He was also an enthusiastic United Methodist who was actively involved in every church to which he belonged. He liked to talk about being a member of 12 United Methodist churches in 8 states plus the province of Ontario, Canada. He was a member of Valley View United Methodist Church for 27 years.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mabel Mohr, sisters Betty Holder and Ann Daniel and brother William Mohr. Survivors include his love of 57 years, Jean; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Darren Beck of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren, Josh, Rylie and Ellie Beck; brother Charles Mohr of Gainesville, FL; sisters, Clara Kotch of Houston, TX and Marty McCarty of Scottsdale, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Valley View United Methodist Church, 8412 W. 95th St, Overland Park, KS, from 10-11:00 AM. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 AM at the church. The family suggest in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Olathe Medical Center Hospice, Olathe Health Charitable Foundation, 20375 W. 151st, Suite 363, Olathe, KS 66061.
