ALAN K. TRIPP
Alan K. Tripp, age 65, of Prairie Village, KS, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2011. He was born on February 20, 1946 in Manhattan, KS, the son of Ruth (Keller) and Wilson Tripp. He married Mary Anne Perry on August 20, 1983 in Olathe, KS. and was called up during the Vietnam War. He had a passion for mountain climbing, hiking, and rock climbing. One of the mountains he climbed was The Grand in the Tetons. Alan was a graphic arts photographer-color specialist for Hallmark Cards. He retired after 29 years. His interests included music, World War II history, and baseball. Alan was a member of the Kansas City Astronomy Club and operated a telescope at UMKC for many years. Survivors include his wife, Mary, of the home; daughter, Carlyn Wooderson Enright; three grandchildren, Jesse, Cassie and Maggie; sister, Helen Martin (Dan); niece, Sally Smart (Matt). He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Alan's life will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Entombment will be held in the Indoor Courtyard of Memories at Johnson County Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or American Heart Association . We should be happy for Alan.
