Albert Lee Jones, age 75, of Gardner, Kansas passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at Olathe Medical Center.
Albert (Bert) was born June 2, 1932 in Le Loup, Kansas to Lewis C. Jones and Ruth M. Jones. He married Patricia I. Yakle on October 2, 1952 in Wellsville, KS. They shared nearly 55 years of marriage. Patricia passed away on July 25, 2007.
Albert worked as a Nitrator at the Sunflower Munitions plant before serving in the United States Army 16th Infantry Regiment from 1953 to 1955 attaining the rank of Corporal. He retired from the United States Department of Labor in downtown Kansas City after more than 30 years of service.
Survivors include son Darrell and Tami Lasseter of Raytown, MO; son David and wife Delores, two granddaughters and one grandson of Ottawa, KS; sister Velma and husband Carl Rochester of Eudora, KS. His beloved wife, parents, two brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death. His sister Alice Keeney of Ottawa, KS passed away two days after Albert.
Burial services will be held at Wellsville cemetery on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society.
