ALICE A. ZSCHOCHE
Alice Anna (Meyer) Zschoche was born April 2, 1925, to Herman and Anna (Roetter) Meyer, in Palmer, KS and passed away peacefully on December 22, 2010 in Olathe, Ks. On September 3, 1949, she married George F. Zschoche. Alice and George were blessed with three children. Alice worked as the bookkeeper for her husband's business, Automotive Equipment Service, although her priority and dedication was always to her family. They raised their children in Prairie Village and moved to Olathe in 1976 after their children were grown to continue their enthusiasm for gardening and canning and to live in the country. She retired with her husband in 1987 to travel and continue volunteering. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1948 and faithfully served the church in organizations such as the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML), Naomi Circle, and the quilting group.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, George, by one son Thomas Zschoche (Pam), daughters Jane Musgrove (John) and Gail Phelps (Roger), 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Lois Gunlach, sister-in-law, Florence Meyer, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 29, followed by a service at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5601 W. 62nd Street, Mission, Ks 66202 with burial to follow in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to thank the staff at Aberdeen Village and Grace Hospice for caring for Alice with dignity and compassion. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Grace Hospice, or the Parkinson’s Foundation of the Heartland.
