Alice was born November 19, 1928 in Selman Oklahoma. She married Paul O. Dart in 1946. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul and her eldest child, Walter Keenan Dart, as well as her brother, Richard Dies and a sister, Agnes Daughtery.
She is survived by her son Troy Dart, daughter-in-law Lynne, and their children Alicia and Justin; her daughter Paulette Bradshaw, son-in-law Steve, and children Nicole Ysac (Steve) and Ryan Bradshaw; her daughter Dawn Frischer, son-in-law Len, and their children, Bailey and Peyton; her grandchildren by Keenan, Brian, Tyler and Blake Dart and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Sayers and brothers Harry Dies and Donald Dies.
Alice was raised in Oklahoma but lived most of her life in Garden City until 1997 when she moved to the Kansas City area to be closer to her youngest daughter Dawn and her beloved grandchildren, Bailey and Peyton. She and Dawn weren’t just a mother and daughter: they were the best of friends. Alice attended all of Bailey and Peyton’s functions, and she never missed a chance to spoil them during frequent sleepovers at Grandma’s house. Alice was a avid golfer who managed a hole in one in Hawaii. She was a wonderful home style cook whose cinnamon rolls were her signature dish. After her husband’s death, she took over and successfully managed the family convenience store business. After coming to Leawood, she learned to play bridge and enjoyed making many new friends from the game, including those she played with in the New Friends Bridge Club and those she lived with at the Tallgrass Creek Community. Although she only recently learned the game, she achieved two grand slams. Alice’s kindness, her cheery personality and her unending willingness to help others will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She was genuinely touched by all the cards and well wishes during her illness.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kansas City Hospice House 12000 Wornall, Kansas City, MO.
