Marie Hargis was born in Wickliffe, Kentucky on April 22, 1913 and she passed away on December 4th, 2007 in Seward, Nebraska.
Marie was married to Gordon W. Hargis on November 17, 1951 in Kansas City where they resided for most of their lives. Marie was preceded in death by her husband on December 17, 2003. Marie graduated from Wickliffe, KY high school in 1934 and moved to Kansas City where she met Gordon. Marie loved working in her garden. Her yard and flowers were featured in the Kansas City Star in 1964. Marie was an avid Royals and Chiefs fan and she loved bowling. Marie and Gordon enjoyed decorating their house at Christmas time, winning several Prairie Village, KS Christmas decorating awards.
Marie leaves behind her three sons, Phillip Hargis of Garland, Nebraska, Mike Hargis of La Cygne, Kansas and John Bourret of Dallas, Texas. Marie also leaves behind her, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Marie will be missed by many and she now joins some of those who loved her most.
Her memorial service and burial will be held at 12:00 noon on December 8th, 2007 at D.W. Newcomers, located at 112th & Metcalf in Overland Park, Kansas.
