Scott passed away on July 10, 2015 at the age of 73 years after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 5, 1942, the third child of William and Leona Fruehling, in St. Croix Falls, WI. Scott and Bonnie moved from Wisconsin to Kansas City in 1961. Scott took a risk in 1973 and started his own business of SPD Transfer Service. Due to Scott’s hard work, generosity, honesty, and friendly disposition, his company was successful and he was able to pass it to the next generation.
Scott always enjoyed spending time with his family, going to their lake home, swimming and traveling. Scott never met a stranger and will be missed by a host of people. Scott also loved music, was an avid sports fan, and thoroughly enjoyed time spent socializing with friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife Bonnie of 55 years, his four loving children, Kim, Todd (Suzy) , Suzette, Heather (Dan), nine grandchildren , Jake (Erin), Mitchell, Tyler, Colin, Scott, Trey, Cole, Jack and Alyson. Three great-grandchildren, Lauren, Andrew and Addison.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., O.P., KS. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5601 W. 62nd St. Mission, KS, at 1:30 p.m., with visitation from to 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association in honor of Scott, 6701 W 64th St –Suite 110, Cloverleaf Office Park Building #5, Overland Park, KS 66202.
