Andrei was born on May 27, 1924 in the village of Sacadate, Romania. Youngest of 7 children, he was required to work on the family farm as a young boy. He loved school and learning and eventually joined the service, where he rose to rank of Major. He married Constanta Vilciu in October of 1951 and had a son, Adrian, in 1956. A dedicated family man, he went to night school and completed his Economics degree and became a comptroller for the city of Bucharest. His desire for fairness and best for his family drove him to immigrate to Detroit in 1973, where he worked until his retirement. He lived a loving, full and exciting life, until being diagnosed with Alzheimer's a few years back. He was well taken care of by his family and the people at Villa St. Francis, to whom we are grateful. He is survived by his wife, son and his family, in whose hearts he will live forever.
