Angela Pirnot

On Wednesday, January 9, 2019, Angela Ann Pirnot wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away at age 50 of breast cancer. Angela will be forever loved and remembered by her husband and best friend Walter, their precious children, Gillian and Gavin, and by her mother Mary Swinehart. Angela will also be forever remembered by her sister and niece, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and dear friends.

Angela was born and grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, to a loving and large family. As a child, Angela especially loved spending time at her grandparents’ home, and with her many aunts, uncles and cousins. Angela attended Saydel High School, and earned a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree from Iowa State University in 1993. Angela and her husband Walter first met on February 28, 1986, and were inseparable until the date of her death. After college, Angela lived in Iowa, Orange County, California, and Kansas City, Missouri. After college, Angela began her career at Argus Health Systems, and then worked for 18 years at Cerner Corporation in various consulting and analyst roles, and retired at the end of 2016. Angela often traveled the world working for Cerner, and her favorite destination was Hawaii. Angela developed a very deep affinity and respect for the islands and the wonderful people who live there.

Angela loved to create beautiful things during her life. She loved to paint and design, and admired the natural beauty of Hawaii, California, and Vermont. Her most beautiful creation was her children, whom she loved and adored as their mommy every day. As Angela fell ill, she found tremendous love, support, and comfort from her extended families at Cerner, H&R Block, and Jill’s Hope.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, January 15, at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, Kansas. Angela’s funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, January 16, also at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery, 801 NW 108th St, Kansas City, MO 64155. Memorial donations in memory of Angela may be made to Jill’s Hope, 1406 NW Vivion Rd, Kansas City, MO 64118.
