Angela Marie (Wall) Wieskamp, 39, entered the kingdom of Heaven on April 13, 2016. Angela was born August 28, 1976, in Denver, Colorado to Dee Gavin and Homer Wall. She grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, and was a proud Lincoln Southeast graduate. Even then, her inspirational attitude and faith was contagious!
After high school, Angela moved to Kansas City and graduated from DeVry with a Computer Information Systems degree. She was a senior field service engineer at Oracle and worked at the company the last 16 years. Angela enjoyed volleyball, yoga, long walks with friends, crocheting, reading, cheering for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Chiefs, and living a healthy lifestyle.
God and her sweet boys, Gavin and Garrett, were the center of Angela’s life. She loved camping, fishing and going to Chiefs games with her boys. Also, she was her boys’ biggest cheerleader at all their football, soccer, basketball and baseball games. She volunteered at Gavin and Garrett’s school, Sunrise Point Elementary, and was actively involved at Grace Church.
At Grace, Angela led the singles bible study and volleyball ministry, volunteered as a kids’ worship leader and as a vacation bible school teacher. She helped develop the original OWNit365, a resource to help make bible-reading understandable, applicable and fun. Angela also had a hand in Grace classrooms, from elementary to high school, and was always around church – painting walls or lending a listening ear.
She truly was an example of Christ, shining so brightly that she drew in others and made a positive difference in their lives. Angela radiated hope, love, joy and light. Her love with Christ is what carried her through her battle with cancer. Until her last breath, she was an inspiration to her family and friends, nurses and medical staff, and even those who did not personally know her.
Angela is survived by sons Gavin and Garrett Wieskamp; mother, Dee Gavin; step-father, Chuck Gavin; father, Homer Wall; sisters Erica Wall and Lareina (Ro) Guenzel and nephews Robert and Lars Guenzel; step-brother, Matt (Heather) Gavin and niece Sophia Gavin; step-grandmother, Phyllis Gavin; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her dearly.
