Angele Berry

d. July 16, 2012

Angele Marie Berry of Overland Park, KS went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 16, 2012.

Angele was born to Anthony and Helen Akiki in Greece and grew up in Cairo, Egypt and France. As a young lady she moved to the United States where she met and married Sanford Wilson Berry. As the wife of an Air Force officer, she was a gracious hostess and strong mother of two sons, living in locations throughout the United States and Europe. Upon her husband's retirement from the Air Force, she entered the real estate field, becoming a realtor and then a broker.

In 1973, Angel established a boutique-style real estate company in Overland Park. She began with a single goal: make clients happy by serving their needs. Angel Berry Realtors, Inc. thrived on this client-oriented approach and has grown into a well-established real estate brokerage firm that continues today. Angel was an active member of the National Association of Realtors and the Kansas City Regional Association of Realtors.

Angel never considered anyone a stranger and loved working with people. She had a smile for everyone. She loved being with her family and made every occasion special. She knew how to celebrate milestones as well as moments. As part of her love of people, she mentored new agents, built life-long relationships with clients and the business community, and reached out to help other entrepreneurs. She had a positive impact on every life she touched. She was always available to help, to listen, to advise, and to guide with love and compassion all who reached out to her. She always wanted to "sprinkle her Angel dust" (as she called it) for good luck. Words cannot begin to describe how special she was to those whose lives she touched and influenced. She passed on her positive attitude and zest for life to everyone she met.

Angel Berry is survived by her husband, Sanford Wilson Berry; her son Richard Berry and his wife Mary; her daughter-in-law Dorothy Wozny; her grandchildren Sarah Cranston (David), Daniel Berry, Amy Berry, David Berry, Isabella Berry; her sisters Georgette Khoury and Jean Pieknik; her nephew Kostas Athanasiades (Mary); her niece Despina Raucci; her nephew Dimitri Siscos (Mary) and his children, Michael Siscos, Melanie Siscos, and Ellena Siscos; her nephew Richard Khoury (Sharon) and his children Elaina Boudreau (Bryan), Ricky Khoury, and Peggy Jane Bennett (Michael); her nephew Paul Khoury (Cindy) and his children Patrick Khoury (Rhya) and Molly Khoury; her nieces Christina Pieknik, Melissa Morris (Michael), and Gizela Pieknik; extended family and countless friends.

Angel is pre-deceased by her son, Leroy Vernon "Skip" Berry; her brother Angie Akiki; and her sister Fifi Siscos.

Visitation is Friday, July 20 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Celebration of Life is Saturday, July 21 at 10:00 a.m. Both services are at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS. Interment will take place at Corinth Cemetery at 3301 West 83rd Street in Prairie Village, KS.
