ANGELINA BAZAN LOPEZ, 87, of Overland Park, Kansas died Saturday, January 12, 2013. A funeral service will be held at 1:30p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial at Johnson County Memorial Gardens at the same address. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Lawrence Community Shelter, 3701 Franklin Ark Circle, Lawrence, KS 66046.
Angelina was born May 5, 1925 in Monterey Mexico. She entered in to the United States in 1947 and became a naturalized citizen. Angelina married Julio Lopez in September 13, 1947 and the couple remained married for 62 years; Julio Lopez predeceased her. Two sons were born of their union. The family attended the Church of the Good Shepherd in Kansas City, Missouri; Angelina was a member of the altar guild. Angelina is survived by her two sons, William and Dianne, his wife, and James and Susan, his wife. Angelina is also survived by her two loving granddaughters, Adrienne M. Marquis and Peter, her husband, and Helena K. Lopez.
