Anita Hoffman-Davis

Anita Hoffman Davis, 100, passed away October 4, 2019 at John Knox Village Hospice House in Lee’s Summit, MO.  She was born in Peru, Kansas March 19, 1919 to Paul Verner Aerdelman and Beulah Ruth Aerdelman.  She graduated from Burrton, KS High School in 1936.  Before moving to Overland Park, KS in 1961, she resided in Wichita, Hutchinson and Dodge City, KS.

She married Kenneth V. Hoffman in 1941 and was married 50 years before his death 1991.  To this union they had three children, Vicky, Judith and Randy.  In 1999 she married Wayne Davis and moved to Lee’s Summit, MO.  Wayne predeceased her in 2015.

Kenneth and Wayne were both members of the Greeters Unit of Ararat Shrine in Kansas City, Missouri. Anita was a Greeterette.   Attending and participating in all their conventions, dances and activities was a big part of her life.

Anita is survived by her children Vicky Bruns (Darrel) Shawnee, KS, Judith Taylor (William) Mesa, AZ, Randy Hoffman (Beverly) Topeka, KS and step-son Keith Davis, Denver, CO.  Grandchildren Kevin Bruns (Tammy) Sugar Land, TX, Kyle Bruns (Michelle) Dallas, TX, Jennifer Bley (Daniel) Topeka, KS, Stacey Gonzalez (Alejandro) Topeka, KS, Matthew Hoffman, Overland Park, KS.  Great-grandchildren Ryan Bruns, Ashlyn Bruns, Cole Bruns, Noah Bruns, Juliana Bley and Rhett Gonzalez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Phillard Aerdelman and half-sister Evelyn Harms.

Visitation for Anita will be held October 9, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS 66210.  Burial will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions in her name are suggested to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or Village House at John Knox Village.
