Anna Lou Patton, 83, of Prairie Village, Kansas, died peacefully, Saturday July 11, 2009 at Kansas City Hospice House.

A visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday July 15, 2009 at D.W. Newcomer's Johnson County Chapel at 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 16, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 5400 West 75th Street, Prairie Village, Kansas. Internment will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.

Lou was born Anna Lou Zagrodzky, January 25, 1926, to Albert Otto and Wilhelmina Augusta Zagrodzky in St. Joseph, Missouri. After marrying her beloved Edward A. Patton in 1947, they together became prominent in the Johnson County, Kansas, real estate business, having founded Ed Patton Realtors in 1952. Lou and Ed were active in and helped found the Johnson County Board of Realtors, as well as All Points Relocation Network. Lou served as President and in various executive Board positions of All Points. Lou was a charter member of Johnson County Young Matrons and served as its second president in 1962. She was also active in the A.V. Chapter of PEO, having served as recording secretary; the Overland Park Historical Society and Epsilon Sigma Alpha. Lou was very dedicated to and active in Asbury United Methodist Church since 1955, and was a past president of Crusaders Class and served on the Administrative Board of the Church. Lou will be remembered as a warm and gracious presence in the community, who will be dearly missed.

Lou was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ed and their only son, Edward A. Patton II; her brothers, Melvin A. Zagrodzky, Howard H. Zagrodzky; sister, Thelma R. Zagrodzky Marschel; and her nephew, Bill Patton. She is survived by many loving friends from Claridge Court, the Kansas City real estate family, the church and throughout the community, as well as ten nieces and nephews: Annabell Marie Heflin of Maryville, MO; Gwen Hendricks (Larry) of Easton, MO; Jeannette Hurst (Meryle) of Savannah, MO; Judith Lynn Johnson (Jim) of Hot Springs, AR; Sharon Kay Karr (Merrill) of Union Star, MO; Cheryl Lynch (Greg)of Huntington Beach, CA; Glenn William Marschel Jr. (Kay) of Dallas, TX; Donald Eugene Patton (Darlene) of Plano, TX; Suzanne Sandy (Bob) of Kidder, MO and Margarette Catherine Schmitz (James) of Ravenwood, MO.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests gifts to Asbury United Methodist Church or Kansas City Hospice House, 11200 Wornall Road, Kansas City MO 64145, which cared for her so lovingly in her final days.
