Mrs. Annamma Thomas

April 3, 1918 — November 20, 2010

Mrs. Annamma Joseph Thomas, peacefully transitioned to her eternal rest on the morning of Saturday, November 20, 2010. She ran this earthly race with patience and grace for 92 years.

Her life story began oceans away in 1918, as the fifth child of Mr. and Mrs. P.M. Mammen, of Kumbanad, India. In 1939, she married Mr. Joseph Puthenveetil Thomas, and they were blessed with eleven children. She tirelessly shouldered the responsibilities of raising a family, even when her husband was away for several years during World War II. Their 57-year married life spanned many countries.

Her singular passion was being a dedicated mother of eleven, a devoted grandmother of twenty-seven, and a doting great-grandmother of fourteen.

Survivors include her sisters Dr. Vijayamma Thomas, Rajamma Mathews; along with her eleven children Leela Abraham, Dr. Anne Idiculla, Dr. Molly Paul, Samuel Thomas, Dr. Elizabeth Dayalu, Dr. Salome Andrews, Dr. Lily Isaac, Mercy Abraham, Dr. Grace Thomas, Dr. Joseph Thomas, Dr. Daniel Thomas, her grandchildren and great-grand children.
