Anne “Mama” Ai, age 68, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on March 29, 2015, at her home. Anne was born November 15th, 1946, in Chung King, China. She left Chung King, China in 1950 and moved to Hong Kong where she received her elementary education. She then moved to Taiwan to continue with her high school and college education, graduating with a degree in Entomology. In 1970, she came to the United States after her father had passed away. She continued her graduate level education in NY, IL and MO with a degree in accounting. She got married in 1972, and her only son was born in 1975. She moved to Stillwell, KS in 1981. The following year, after her divorce, she worked two jobs to support herself and her son. She started her accounting business in the late 80s, which continues to this day. 15 years ago, she became interested in the restaurant business. She formed a partnership and launched a Japanese restaurant called Siki in Lee’s Summit. In addition she opened an ice cream shop called The Real Scoop in Kansas City. Her most recent sushi restaurant was Edokko in Lenexa. She was preceded in death by her parents. Anne is survived by her son, Andy and grandchildren, Allison and Alexander. Her sisters, Cecilia Hsu and Agnes (King) Lee. Her brother Roger (Amy) Hsu.
