Arta Ann Ramel entered into her heavenly home on August 29, 2011. She was born in 1941 to Arthur and Anna Belle Wiechert in Carrollton, MO and was raised on the family farm with sisters Brenda Howe (Ken) and Terrie Underwood (Frank). Ann was married in 1961 to George Ramel and was blessed with four children, Randy Ramel (Lucy), Renee Moldrup (Steve), Robin Hersma (Brett) and Rita Ramel, who preceded her in 1997. Her joy was found through her faith, family, and friends. She especially treasured time with her grandchildren, gardening, and ministering to people in need. Ann showed amazing faith and courage through many hardships and unexpected losses. She always placed concern for others first despite her own challenges. Her gifts were many and she shared them while on the staff of Colonial Presbyterian Church for 20 years. Her legacy includes nine grandchildren with two more from Haiti awaiting adoption. A memorial service will be held at Colonial Presbyterian Church, 95th & Wornall, Kansas City, MO at 1:00 p.m., September 2. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to support children with special needs are welcome and may be sent to: National Christian Foundation, Attn: Rita Ramel Memorial Fund, 706 North Lindenwood, Olathe, KS 66062.
