Mr. Arthur Atterbury

Arthur Dale Atterbury, 73, of Olathe, KS was born on August 30, 1935 and passed away on May 22, 2009. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27 from 6-8pm at D. W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. Funeral service will be Thursday, May 28 at 10am at the funeral home. Private inurnment will occur at a later date at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Olathe.
He lived in the Kansas City area most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army for several years. Arthur will be remembered most by his beautiful artistic ability including gold-leaf lettering, his kindness he showed to others and his unconditional love to his family, friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his 3 brothers, his loving wife, Nancy and his beloved cat, Melvin. Survivors include his 4 sons, Charles Atterbury, Tad Atterbury, Jesse Atterbury and Bradford Atterbury; 4 daughters, Cindy Choplin, Lesly Cook, Melanie Durrell and Lorena Hadsall; a nephew, Brian Atterbury; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
