Mr. Arthur Meedel

Arthur E. Meedel, 94, of Overland Park, KS passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2010. Inurnment will take place at D.W. Newcomer’s Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210 on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 1:00 pm.
Arthur was born on August 9, 1915 in Blue Hill, NE. He was married to his beloved wife Vivian for 64 years until her death in 2000. He owned a lumber and demolition company in Des Moines, Iowa and Kansas City for many years and ended his working career as VP of Marketing for a steel salvage company in Philadelphia. In more recent years, he was active in the Hillcrest Christian Church and enjoyed playing in the organized bridge clubs in town.
He was preceded in death by his wife Vivian, brother Harold Meedel, grandson David Wolf, and son-in-law Richard Damron. Arthur is survived by his daughter Pamela Damron of Olathe, KS, grandson Michael Wolf and wife Jennifer of Key West, FL, and special friend Mary Lou Rivers.
A memorial service will be held at the Stratford Commons Assisted Living Center at a future date. Memorial contributions may be made to Continua Hospice, 7611 State Line Road, Suite 202, Kansas City, MO 64114.
