Mr. A. Skrede
October 14, 1919 — February 21, 2010
Alfred A. Skrede, age 90, of Overland Park, KS died peacefully on February 21, 2010. Preceded in death by his wife, M. Jean Skrede survived by his loving children Linda (Peder) Engebretson, Paul Skrede, and Barbara (Ralph) Jenkins; eight grand-children, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A veteran of WWII, Alfred retired from the National Weather Bureau in 1974 after 37 years of service and spent his last 35 years playing golf, building grandfather clocks, traveling and enjoying his family and many friends.
The family would like to especially thank the staff of Village Shalom for their superb care and attention to his every need over the last three years.
A memorial service will be held at Asbury Methodist Church, 75th and Nall, on Saturday, March 6 at 1 PM and his interment will be in Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest memorials to Village Shalom or one's personal choice.
