Avery James Thompson, age 9, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on the morning of May 8, 2012 at his home. Avery was a friend to all and an inspiration for a life of joy and love. He was born on September 25, 2002 in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
Survivors include his parents Janette and John Thompson; brother Darby, age 13; sisters Lillian, age 12 and Holland, age 6; Maternal Grandparents, Mike and Madelyn Pace of Overland Park, Kansas; paternal Grandparents, Pat and Margo Thompson of Sarasota, Florida; Uncle Jim and Aunt Jackie Waechter and cousins, Adam, Rex, Amy, and Jamie all of Overland Park, Kansas; Uncle Mike and Aunt Jenny Eldred along with cousins Hannah, Callie, and Cade all of Leawood, Kansas; Uncle Brett and Aunt Susan Thompson, along with cousin Sawyer of Alexandria, Virginia.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Hillcrest Covenant Church, 8801 Nall Avenue, Prairie Village, KS 66207. Burial will be held at Mount Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Avery Thompson Memorial Fund, care of Hillcrest Covenant Church, at the address above.
