Barbara Calhoun Carter
Barbara Carter, age 59, of Stilwell, KS, passed away July 12, 2007 surrounded by her family.
Barbara was born September 20, 1947 in Dallas, Texas, to Howard and Sarah "Sally" Calhoun. She graduated from Georgia State College and was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority. She married Malcolm "Andy" Carter in 1969. Barbara sang in the choir at St. Thomas the Apostle, and loved to spend time in her yard gardening. She was an employee at Metcalf Bank for the last 11 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Andy, her son Stephen and daughter-inlaw Valerie of Overland Park, KS, her daughter Julie and son-in-law Nathan Droste of St. Charles, Mo., her brother John and sister-in-law Linda of Stone Mountain, GA., her granddaughters Catherine and Lauren Carter of Overland Park, KS, her aunt Dorothy Calhoon of Pineville, LA., and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 18th at St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church at 12251 Antioch Road, Overland Park, KS 66213. The family will receive friends at a reception immediately following the service. A private burial is planned.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle's Music Fund.
