Barbara Griffin

Barbara Jean Griffin, 70, of Shawnee, KS, passed away May 12. Barbara was born January 28, 1949 in Memphis, TN.  Barbara was divorced and leaves behind daughter, Michele Chandler and four grandchildren, Jesse, Crystal, Stormie and Wesley, brother Fred Griffin(Connie) and sister Sue Amego(Steve), nephews Dan and Bill, great nephew, Hunter and great niece, Laurel.  Predeceased by parents, Roland and Gail Griffin (Bryant). Barbara graduated from Desoto High School and enlisted in the Marines in May of 1969. She was honorably discharged in 1970. Barbara attended Business College in Kansas City and became a medical transcriptionist. Barbara worked for the Department of Urology at KU Medical Center for many years. Barbara was extremely talented in knitting and crocheting and donated most of her creations to people in need. A memorial service will be held May 16 at Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th St, Kansas City, KS at 11 AM.
