Barbara Louise Sutton, 66, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on November 26, 2016. Barb, as her friends knew her, was born in Kansas City, Kansas but moved to Osawatomie as a young girl and graduated from Olathe High School. The last 16 years she has worked as the inside sales person for Spectrum Sales. She enjoyed her job, ballroom dancing, spending time with family and friends but most of all she enjoyed being with her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy and she looked forward to weekends of Lacrosse and dance recitals. Barb belonged to the Church of the Resurrection were she made new friendships and was an usher on Saturday nights. She was a person with a beautiful soul who who touched many hearts. One of her favorite charities was St. Jude's and she kept all the pictures they sent her of the children she helped. Barbara was proceeded in death by her father, Robert Phegley and her brother, Darren Phegley. Survivors include her son Douglas E. Sutton (Wendy) of Lee's Summit and two grandchildren, Lane M. Sutton and Loren M. Sutton. Also her mother Lottie Phegley of Osawatomie, her brother Mike Phegley (Janet), companion and friend N. Keith Sutton and many nieces and nephew.
The family thanks the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center for their support. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The American Cancer Society. A visitation will be held in the Wesley Chapel at the Church of the Resurrection on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am with the service following at 11:30am. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in Olathe, Kansas.
