Barbara Brink Wells, 90, died Saturday, January l7, 2009, at a nursing center in Eudora, Kansas.

She was born January 20, 1918, in Kansas City. Services will be on Thursday, January 22, 2009, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Chapel, Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf, at 2 p.m., with visitation at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation, c/o Mrs. Bob Reed, 9000 Cottonwood, Lenexa, KS 66215.

Barbara, daughter of Arthur T. and Helen Glenn Brink, attended Border Star, Southwest High School, and the University of Missouri-Columbia where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She was a board member of Mattie Rhodes Counseling & Art Center and a member of the Junior League of KCMO and Mission Hills Country Club.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wesley Wells, Jr., owner of Wells Home Building, her brother Robert Glenn Brink, and her sister Caroline Gene VanCleave. She is survived by her daughter Melinda Wells McKnight and husband Philip McKnight, Lawrence, KS, her son Ralph W. Wells, III, and wife Pamela Wells, Overland Park; and five grandchildren: Laura McKnight and husband Clay Barker, Leawood; Philip McKnight, III, and wife Jill, Shawnee; Caroline McKnight Hexdall and husband Eric, Raleigh, NC; Matthew W. Wells and wife Tracy, Lee's Summit; and Katherine Wells Eliason and husband Nicolas, Wilmette, IL.; and eight great grandchildren. Barbara was a cheerful, supportive friend and was proud of the accomplishments of her husband, children, & grandchildren.
