Barbara J. Knight

Barbara Jean Knight, 78, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Kansas City, Missouri on June 21, 2021.

She was born April 5,1943 in Kansas City Missouri to Lawrence and Altha Johnson. After graduating from Shawnee Mission North High School, she married John Knight and together they raised four children. She was an avid reader, loved to sew and make ceramics.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Knight, sister, Betty Riggle, and great granddaughter Layla Dusch.

She is survived by her four children: Altha Knight (Kim), Michael Knight (Ella), Cathy Vozzella (Dr. Thomas Vozzella) and Christy Smith (Robert). Her grandchildren Matthew McBrayer, Timothy Williams, Tammy Williams, Jessica Dusch, Ashley Vozzella, and her great grandchildren Jacob Gould and Jasmine Williams, along with her brother-in-law Frank Riggle and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at 11:00 AM, at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave. Overland Park, KS followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM officiated by Father John.  Burial will be at Johnson County Memorial Gardens at 1:00 PM.
