Bartlett C. Watt, 96, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2007.
Bartlett was born November 27, 1910, in Upton, Wyo., to Robert A. and Margaret Dora Watt. He graduated from Johnson County High School, Buffalo, Wyo., in 1928 and attended Maryville College in Maryville, Tenn., for one year and the University of Wyoming for one year. He also attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn., for a short while. Bart married Margaret Justin Clinkenbeard in 1935. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II as a Combat Engineer. After serving in the Army, he was employed by Fisher Body Division of GM where he retired in 1970. He and Justin were longtime members of Countryside Christian Church. Bart was preceded in death by his father in 1951 and mother in 1941. His older brother Robert passed away in 1929 due to a truck accident and his younger brother Vance was killed while serving in the United States Navy during World War II in 1945. His oldest sister, Josephine, also preceded him in death and his wife, M. Justin, passed away in 1999.
Survivors include his daughter, Patty Bays and her husband Jim of Overland Park, Kan.; grandson, Brett Snead and his wife, Karla and their children Caleb, Ethan and Harper, all of Council Bluffs, Iowa and granddaughter, Janie Snead and her daughter Elizabeth, both of Overland Park, Kan.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, November 5, at Countryside Christian Church, 6101 Nall, Mission, Kan. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Countryside Christian Church or to Kendallwood Hospice, 2908 N.W. Vivion Road, Riverside, MO 64150.
