Mr. Barton Meadows

Barton E. Meadows, 86, Overland Park, KS. passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 29, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS; burial will follow in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Barton was born January 8, 1924, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Clarence and Ruth Meadows. He was a lifelong resident of the area and had lived in Overland Park the past 62 years. He and his wife owned the Meadows Company that was in the business of remodeling stores and roofing homes. His passions were his family, woodcarving, remodeling his home and traveling. He was married to Norma Cover Meadows in 1947 who proceeded him in death. He leaves behind his five children, Mark Meadows of Clovis, CA, Dale Meadows of Roeland Park, KS, Leah Meadows of Overland Park, KS, Jeri Hufford and husband Ron of Miramonte, CA, and Ted Meadows and wife Sara Pizarro Subtil of Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren, Josh and wife Dyane Meadows of Reno, NV, Bryan Meadows of Seattle, WA, Jason Meadows of Los Angelos, CA, and Tyler Meadows of Clovis, CA; one great grandchild Gabriel Meadows of Reno, NV; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes, the Overland Park Historical Society or the Overland Park Arboretum. (Arrangements: D.W.
