Beatrice Keeling, age 87, of Lenexa, KS, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011. She was born on May 10, 1924, in Trenton, MO, the daughter of Ada (Croy) and Charles Haney. She grew up in Kansas City and attended grade school and High School there. Bea, as she liked to be called, attended Central Bible College in Springfield, MO and graduated with a Bachelors Degree.
Bea worked in numerous office positions but her real loves were working with ceramics and driving a school bus. Bea and Bob enjoyed traveling, sailing and flying in Bob’s single engine plane. Bea and Bob lived most of their lives in the Kansas City area but also lived for about a year in Sierra Vista, AZ, where her daughter Cheryl lives.
Bea married William J. Muncy in 1947and they later divorced; he preceded her in death in 2003. She then married Bob Keeling, he survives her. Other survivors include her daughters Denise (Jeff) Klepac, Cheryl (Jeff) Stevens; son Dennis (Becky), stepson Tim (Joyce) Keeling, stepdaughter Susan Keeling; 8 grandchildren, Kari, Jason, Shaun, Michelle, Nathan, Kristin, Kasey and Madison and 9 great grandchildren. Bea was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Daryl, in 1999.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
