Mrs. Beatrice Flaherty, Harper

FLAHERTY Beatrice Irene (Harper) Flaherty passed away on Monday, February 1, 2010, at Shawnee Gardens Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Shawnee, Kan. Irene was born on Oct. 7, 1923, to William R. Harper and Lois Marie (Glenn) Harper of Kansas City, Kan. Irene grew up in Kansas City, Kan., and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1949 to 1952. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Glenn and Robert Harper, and her husband, Donald J. Flaherty. Irene is survived by two sisters, Helen Nelson of Overland Park, and Ruth Taylor of Middletown, Conn. A private burial will take place at D.W. Newcomer's located at 112th and Metcalf, Overland Park.
