Beatrice “Bea” Golom, 89, passed away February 6, 2016. Bea was born January 13, 1927 in Cheshire, CT., to Irving Welton Clark and Rachel Elizabeth Brouse.
She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State in 1949 and in the same year got married to John Golom. Beatrice was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She earned a dual Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Kansas and taught at Pawnee Elementary in the Shawnee Mission School District for 10+ years. She was a long time member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) & was the President of the State of Kansas Learning Disability (LDA).
Beatrice is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Truman and Grant. She is survived by her husband, John T. Golom; her children, Kathy Daly, Pat Hall, Mike Golom, Becky Hanneman, Linda Mies, Matt Golom; ten grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9-10 am Saturday, February 13, 2016 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 5130 Mission Rd, Roeland Park, KS 66205, Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 am, burial to follow at Shawnee Mission Memorial Gardens, Shawnee, KS.
