Beatrice (Bea) Jenkins passed away at home on Thursday, April 02, 2020 in Kansas City, Kansas at 80 years of age. She is survived by her sister, Linda K. Hernandez of Kansas City, Kansas; her brother in-law, Floyd L. Howard Sr. of Waverly, Kansas; and her sister in-law, Florence Shirley of Kansas City, Kansas. She leaves behind six children; Melvin E. Howard (Stephanie) of Holden, Missouri, Tina M. Stephens (Terry) of Holden, Missouri, Ronald D. Howard (Karen) of Kansas City, Kansas, Katherine E, Honeywell (Douglas) of Kansas City, Kansas, Christopher L. Howard of Kansas City, Kansas, and Mathew W. Howard of Lansing, Kansas. She leaves twelve Grandchildren; Samantha K. Howard, Crystal L. Malone, Natasha Johnson (Tristan), Jacob P. Howard, Chaz W. Howard, Andre B. Howard, DuWayne C. Odom Jr., Dustin Howard (Melanie), Tyler Howard, Caleb Howard, Johnny Nolan, Brianna Nolan. She leaves ten Great-Grandchildren; Michael J. Howard, Ashley M. Pape (Ryan), Cooper J. Best, Harley W. King-Honeywell, Austin J. Gardner, Franklin Gardner, Brantely Reusch, Daniela Howard, Miah A. Howard, Quin M. Orth, and a Great-Great Grandson; Alexander Stalder. She is preceded in death by her parents; Francis Perry Leon Sutton and Christine (Lorfing) Sutton, her late husbands; Melvin H. Howard and Mayro ‘Merle’ Jenkins, her five brothers; Francis Sutton, John Frederick Sutton, Robert L. Sutton, William 'Billy’ Sutton, Donald Dean Sutton, Ronald Gene Sutton, James ‘Jimmy’ Edward Sutton, and her granddaughter Lisa Marie Malone.
The wake is being held on Tuesday, April 07, 2020 at Johnson County Funeral Chapel in Overland Park, Kansas by pre-arranged appointment only. The funeral services are being held on Wednesday, April 08, 2020 with her children only.
Due to the circumstances, Covid-19, the wake as well as the funeral services is restricted to the pre-arranged immediate relations.
In time, a ‘Celebration of life' will be held to allow her loved ones to pay their respect and mourn.
