Beatrice Johnson

Beatrice Marie Johnson, 96, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, and also lived for many years in Overland Park, Kansas, Chesapeake, Virginia, and Raytown, Missouri.

She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Walter H. Johnson, a son, Roger Johnson, sisters Dorothy Seelos and Marilyn Swanson, and her parents, John and Jeanette Nelson.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Johnson) Kandola and Wendy (Johnson) Fox and her husband Michael Fox; daughter-in-law Beth Mazur-Johnson; seven grandchildren, Tej Kandola and wife Ru, Ryan Acosta-Fox and wife Ashley, Tory Fox and wife Daneen, Abby FoxBryan and husband Semaj, Kevin Kandola, Logan Durkin and husband Sean, and Owen Fox.  She also leaves eight great grandchildren - Olive, Lavender, Nation, Emmett, Basil, Maple, Lola, and Lilly.

She was a devoted servant to her family, always thinking of others before herself.  Although she worked in a variety of retail positions including volunteer work at local hospitals, she was most proud of the way she kept her home.  She was an avid reader and loved to travel to see her family members.

She was a devout Christian woman who loved her church.  She was a member of Deep Creek United Methodist Church and also attended Leawood United Methodist Church.

Visitation for family and friends will be at Johnson County Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.  A celebration of her life will be held at Deep Creek United Methodist Church, Chesapeake, Virginia, at a later date.
