Ben F. Cheek, 81 of Overland Park, KS, passed away Friday, March 13th at Specialty Hospital of Mid America in Overland Park after an extended illness.
Ben was born April 26, 1927 in Greensboro, North Carolina. He founded Ben F. Cheek Plumbing & Heating in 1957. Ben was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Peggy, son David & daughter in-law Janice in Overland Park KS, son Mike and daughter in-law Kathy of Lander, Wyoming, granddaughter Cassandra of Overland Park, beloved pet Molly, and sister Lucy of Greensboro, North Carolina along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and Sister Betty. Ben was an avid golfer and belonged to Milburn Country Club. He and Peggy are also members of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection.
Private services for burial will be held Monday March 16th at D.W. Newcomer's. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 17th at United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in the Covenant Chapel from 10-11 a.m. Memorial Service will start at 11 a.m. followed with a luncheon. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to Harvesters of Kansas City, or Church of the Resurrection.
