Ben Cline

June 21, 1939 — November 6, 2012

Ben Walter Cline passed away November 6, 2012. He was born on June 21, 1939 in Murray, Utah to Gladys Crump & Lavere Benjamin Cline. He grew up in Holladay, Utah, graduating from Olympus High School. Ben and his brother Earl (deceased 8/27/12) were called up with the Army National Guard and served our country valiantly.

He married his sweetheart Phyllis Mary Gregersen in the Manti Utah temple, March 22 1963. They moved immediately to Kansas. Ben and his father built a home in Overland Park where they raised their 7 children; Nicolle Christensen, Corey Cline, Loni Jones, Collette Culp/Shillcutt, Shanise Slamin, Tausha Scarff, Cyrena Semrau.

As a master carpenter, he ran his own business with his son and sons-in-law for many years. Some of the things that brought him the most joy were his 40 grandchildren, his work in the LDS temple, and his service to those around him.

Gentle Ben was a devoted son & brother, a loving husband, doting father, grandfather, & great-grandfather. His service will continue as he prepares an eternal home where someday they can all be an eternal family. Until then he will be missed beyond measure.

A visitation will be held Sunday, November 11th, 2012 from 4-6 PM at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210. A funeral service will be Monday, November 12th at 12:30 PM at LDS Chapel, 7100 Hadley St, Overland Park, KS, the family will receive friends an hour and a half prior to the service. Interment will follow in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Kansas City Hospice House, 9221 Ward Pkwy., Suite 100, Kansas City, MO 64114.
