Betty Godfrey Hall, age 88, Kansas City, MO died May 2nd at Timberlake Care Center.

Betty was born December 14th, 1919 in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Southwest High School and attended the University of Kansas and the University of Kansas City (now UMKC). She lived the majority of her life in Kansas City, MO, though spent some of her years in Phoenix, AZ; Sheldon, MO; and Atlanta, GA. Betty loved to be outdoors, and greatly enjoyed gardening, tennis, and swimming. She was also an avid bridge player. Betty took great pleasure in being part of the Shepherd?s Center of KC Central, Central United Methodist Church, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She will always be remembered for her sweet, sunny disposition. Her family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Betty?s wonderful caregivers at Timberlake Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Wheeler Godfrey, and her daughter, Elizabeth ?Susie? Godfrey Salyer. Survivors include her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Marion and Trevor Stone, and her twin great-grandsons, Evan and Leo Stone, of Olathe, KS.

A celebration of Betty?s life will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 9th at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS. Private burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery will take place prior to the memorial service. In remembrance of Betty?s daughter, Susie Salyer, contributions may be made to the M.S. Society, mid-America Chapter, 7611 State Line Rd., Ste. 100, KCMO, 64114.
