Betty I. Peppers
Betty Irene Peppers, age 95, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019. A remembrance of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5601 W. 62nd St., Mission, Kansas. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 1:00 Saturday at the church preceding the service. Cremation with inurnment in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
Betty was born September 14, 1923 in Kansas City, Kansas, to Thomas Barnett and Erna (Bruns) Barnett (Cottrell). She graduated from Argentine High School. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and participated in LWML women’s circle.
Before raising her family and becoming a full-time homemaker Betty worked at Helzberg Jewelers. Later, she volunteered at Kaleidoscope, Crown Center.
Throughout the years, she enjoyed spending time with her family at the vacation home she shared with her husband Jack at Lake of the Ozarks. She was a loyal Chiefs season ticket holder for 30 years. She enjoyed taking long walks with Jack, loved to bird watch and was a voracious reader.
She was especially fond of her grand child, great grand child and all her many granddogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and step-father James Cottrell, step-sister Eleanor Brady and step-brother Harold Cottrell.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Jeff Langdon; daughter Linda Floyd, granddaughter Stephanie Bacon and husband Robert, great granddaughter Riley Bacon.
