BETTY RUTH (McCOWN) GOODE
Betty Ruth (McCown) Goode, 86, Raymore, Missouri, passed Thursday, January 20, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 24, 2011, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas 66210. A visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Monday morning, also at Newcomer's chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Countryside Christian Church, 6101 Nall Avenue, Mission, Kansas 66202. Betty was born January 14, 1925, in Parsons, Kansas. Prior to residing at Foxwood Springs in Raymore, she and Gene, her husband of over 48 years, resided in Roeland Park, Kansas. She devoted her life to being a loving wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene and sister, Helen Hansen. She is survived by a sister, Virginia Spangler, Albany, OR, and brother, H. Gene McCown, San Jose, CA; four children, Gene, Jr. and wife Shirley, Gary and wife Sherri, David and wife Katie, all of the Kansas City area, and Nancy Mertz and husband Paul of Little Rock, AR; eight grandchildren, Bryan Goode (Lindsay), Jamie Miller (Brandon), Jennifer and Jessica Goode, Emily and Grant Goode, Nick and Jake Mertz; two great grandchildren, Kohen and Maryn Miller; and many loving friends.
