Betty Jane Scholtz, age 89, formerly of Overland Park, KS passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at St. Edwards Mercy Hospital, Fort Smith, AR. She was born April 16, 1922 in KC, KS to Harold and Elizabeth Koch. She was a proof reader at Deluxe Printing before retiring and was a KS resident until moving to Prescott, AZ.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, John Edward Scholtz; one son, Kent Edward Scholtz and her brother, Harold Koch, who died in WWII. Survivors include her daughter Kerry (Gary) Schaffer of Hot Springs Village, AR; son Gary (Cindy) Scholtz of Shawnee, KS; daughter in law Sylvia Scholtz, wife of Kent; grandsons Jason (Victoria) of Mora, Sweden, Todd (Elizabeth) of Olathe, KS, Christian (Samantha) of Louisburg, KS; granddaughter Amy Scholtz Segura (Jay) of KC, KS; great grandchildren, Lea, Tyler, Kara, Hagen, Ashton, Christian Jr., Mackenzie Scholtz, Joseph and Andrew Segura and Maja and Julia Hed.
Betty was a great wife, mother and grandmother and though we have so many wonderful memories, she will be sadly missed. We love you mom and grandma.
Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at D. W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Burial will be held in the Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
