Billy Joe South, 86, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Kansas City Hospice House.
He was born on May 9, 1927 in Kansas City, MO, to Earl and Alice South. He attended and graduated from Paseo High School in 1944. After high school in 1945, Bill enlisted in the United States Navy.
Bill married Judy Eisele in 1948.
He was a bricklayer for 65 years; Bill also worked at the Ice House in his senior years.
Bill was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister Jerri Robert; numerous aunts and uncles.
He is survived his wife Judy South; three daughters, Linda Rusk, Janice (Don) Bliven and Barbara Maze; one niece, Judy (Larry) Gile; five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren,
Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons – Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Johnson County Chapel. Burial will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
