Robert (Bob) Allen Wildeboor, 73, Overland Park, Kansas passed away Thursday April 29, 2021 at Menorah Medical Center. Bob was born in Wichita, Kansas and lived there until the 9th grade when he moved to Overland Park. He attended Shawnee Mission West High School and then was drafted into the Army to serve in the Vietnam War. He then worked 18 years for General Heating and Cooling in North Kansas City, where he was top salesman for many years. Bob then started his own business, B&D Distributing in Olathe, KS that he owned and operated for several years before he retired. He played racket ball and was the State Champion in Kansas in 1986. Bob loved the outdoors and traveling to sunny places. He was a die-hard sports fan, to include KU/Big 12 Basketball, NCAA football and NFL Kansas City Chiefs. Many screaming hours dedicated to the games. Bob, in the early years, coached his son’s league basketball games and enjoyed some good successes with it. He loved being a part of the everyday lives of his kids and their friend’s. He considered them to be extensions of the family, even to this day.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy Wildeboor and a sister, Pam Wildeboor. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon; daughter, Shanna Ziebell (Ryan Pattelli); son, Shay Wildeboor; three grandchildren: Breanna Ziebell, Brooklyn Ziebell and Kemper Wildeboor; sister-in-law, Joan Dougherty, brother-in-law, Wayde Byrd; Nephews: Jeff Byrd (Angie), Neil Dougherty (Felice) and Shawn Bennett; great niece and nephew: Sara and Kellan Dougherty.
There will be a graveside service 11:00 AM, Wednesday May 12th, 2021 at the Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan, KS.
Memorial contributions in memory of Bob may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
It’s hard to say goodbye but he won’t be forgotten and will be kept in our hearts until we meet again.
