Bonnie went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 14, 2018 in Overland Park, KS. All those around her were blessed to enjoy her loving spirit, strength of body and strong mind. She loved her husband, 3 children, and 12 grandchildren and they loved her dearly.
Bonnie was born in Moorehead, Kansas, October 3, 1933. Bonnie was the second child to Everett and Verdi Fuller.
While studying dress design and home economics at K-State University, Bonnie met Rich at Baptist Youth Fellowship. Falling in love with his sense of humor, they were married on June 3, 1956. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Education. Her first job in Clearwater, Kansas, was teaching Vocational Home Economics where she demonstrated 3 different ways to put in a zipper.
From 1957-1958, they lived in Germany where Bonnie taught sewing. They were blessed with the birth of their son, Cameron, in 1958. After returning to the States, they resided in Wichita. They were blessed with the births of their daughters Cheryl in 1962 and Carla in 1967. Eventually they moved to Overland Park where they resided on Knox Drive for 47 years. For the past 5 years, they lived in Tallgrass Creek Retirement Center in 2013.
Bonnie stayed at home while raising her three children and then returned to the education field at Valley View United Methodist Church where she taught preschool for 32+ years.
Bonnie was a life-long learner, reader and educator and enjoyed being a Grandmother. She was passionate about sewing, cooking, gardening, a wonderful seamstress and quilter. In her later years, she picked up a passion for exercise and enjoyed strengthening her body, eating healthy and building life-long friends through land and pool exercise.
Bonnie fought the good fight, she finished the race and kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Richard Brown; her three children and their spouses as well as her grandchildren: Jim, David, Jason, Tessa, Randi, Makayla, Josh, Jonah, Sarah, Barrett, Cedric and Bethany. Bonnie is reunited with her brother, Richard, and parents Verdi and Everett Fuller.
