Bonnie Fruehling

December 5, 1941 — May 6, 2020

Bonnie Jean (Christman) Fruehling-December 5, 1941-May 6, 2020

Bonnie was the proverbial matriarch of the Fruehling family.  She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister and Aunt whose life revolved around her family.   She was an excellent cook with a goal to assure no one ever went hungry.  Bonnie’s homemade biscuits and gravy on Saturday mornings were a treat the family always looked forward to having.  Bonnie was a sociable person who loved to entertain.  She was always the gracious, attentive hostess whether the gathering was for family, friends, or business associates.   Bonnie loved having people around, but she was especially happy when surrounded by her extensive family.

Bonnie was an adventurous soul and loved to travel.  Any opportunity to “see the sights” was rarely declined.  She was especially fond of being on or near any kind of water.  Many hours were spent by the home pool, at the lake house, or on vacations with an ocean theme.  She always looked forward to the annual vacation at their Cancun timeshare.  Spending time there with friends and family brought much enjoyment to, and many memories for Bonnie.

When not involved in family related activities, Bonnie found pleasure in the company of her many friends.  She loved the time spent playing Bridge with various ladies’ groups for many years.

Bonnie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she attended regularly when able.  She appreciated the opportunities she had to learn from her friends in the Women’s Bible Study group at the church, and the support and prayers provided by them and other church members.

Bonnie’s earthly suffering ended quietly and peacefully after her courageous battle with cancer.  The strength and endurance Bonnie exhibited throughout her life remained with her during her illness. She was an inspiration and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Scott Fruehling, her parents Floyd and Marcella Christman, sister Beverly Blauert, and grandson Tyler Fruehling.  She is survived by her loving children:  Kim, Todd (Suzy), Suzette,  and Heather (Dan); her grandchildren:  Jake (Erin), Mitch (Rita), Colin, Scott, Trey (Anna Lee), Cole, Jack, and Alyson; and her great-grandchildren:  Lauren, Andrew, Addison, Isla, Ryan, David, Jordan; and her siblings Brenda and Brad (Mary).
