Brenda Dianne (Klemp) Hanly, 44, Overland Park passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m., Thursday, May 6 at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, Main Sanctuary, 13720 Roe. A celebration of Brenda’s life will immediately follow at 11 a.m. in the main sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Sunset Ridge Elementary School “Pay It Forward” scholarship fund, Kansas City Hospice or to The American Cancer Society.
Brenda was born February 21, 1966 in Kansas City, Kansas to Henry Herbert & Helen Ruth Klemp. She graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School with the class of 1984 and attended the University of Kansas, obtaining her degree in Interior Design. On June 10, 1989, Brenda married Carl Byron Hanly and together they had two daughters, Savanna Marie and Sabrina Dianne. Brenda was a Girl Scout Leader and was highly active with the PTO and volunteered in her daughters’ classrooms. Brenda enjoyed scrapbooking, baking, traveling and interior design, but above all, she loved being a mom.
Her husband and two daughters survive her. She is also survived by her parents; sisters, Melissa Ruth (Klemp) Ferris and Kathryn Marie (Klemp) Koetters and their families and many other family and friends.
