Brenda Jacobs

Brenda Marie Jacobs passed away peacefully after an extended illness on June 1, 2022. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 26th at Johnson County Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens at 11am. Brenda’s family wishes to thank Monica and Ben Kangethe and their entire staff at Goshen Homecare’s Joy House for the wonderfully compassionate care they provided Brenda.

Born November 11th, 1949, in Hays, Kansas, Brenda was the oldest of eight children born to Gladys Jacobs and the late Vernon Jacobs. Brenda earned her Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Kansas in 1998, but - ever the free spirit - skipped commencement exercises to run her 1st marathon at age 49 in San Diego with her two sons.  Brenda’s many joys included her grandchildren, her black Honda coupe and ice cream.  Brenda is survived by her mother Gladys, her sisters Joan Mann, Debra Brandt, Patty Gilmer and Pam Woodson, her brothers Vern Jacobs, Dale Jacobs and Jan Jacobs, her son and daughter-in-law Doug and Tracy Roeder, and her 3 grandchildren Ashlyn, Jacob, and Kiley Roeder.

Brenda was preceded in death by her son Brian Roeder.
