Brian James Byrd of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on December 9th 2012. He was born on September 4th, 1964 in Saint Paul, Minnesota to Bob and Cleo Byrd (who passed away in 2010). He is survived by his wife Brenda Whiting Byrd, his children Jake (16) and Madison (14), his father Bob Byrd and siblings Brad Byrd (Tammy), Steve Byrd, David Byrd and Rita Byrd.
Although Brian was born in Minnesota, he spent most of his formative years in Shawnee, KS where he attended Shawnee Mission North High School where he graduated in 1983. After attending college, he began working for Sprint in Overland Park as a full time employee in 1988. He worked as a Network Project Manager for Sprint for 18 years before retiring.
Brian loved life. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, following all sports and having fun. He made several excursions with his friends and family to Canada fishing and numerous trips with friends to golf resorts. He had a love for the outdoors, music, especially classic rock and golfing. Brian had a great love for his children and spent as much time as possible with them. He will be missed.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday December 15th at 3:00 p.m. at the St. Andrews Golf Club in Overland Park, KS. The family asks for donations to the ALS Association, Keith Worthington Chapter at alsa-midwest.org.
