Brian David Hochanadel, 44, of Overland Park, KS passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 24, 2009. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 28 from 6-8 P.M. with rosary recitation at 5:15 P.M. at D. W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 29 at 10:00 A.M. at Church of the Ascension, 9510 W. 127th St., Overland Park, KS 66213. Burial to follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital Neurology Department, 2401 Gillham Rd., Kansas City, MO 64108.
Brian was born November 4, 1964 in Liberal, KS. He graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in 1983. He was the manager of Kings Auto Repair. He loved golfing and fishing and was a world class BBQ competitor. Brian was a son to two, a brother to four and a friend to all.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Declan Padden; paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Maurine Hochanadel and maternal grandfather, George Geiger. Brian is survived by his parents, David E. and Lyla Monica (Geiger) Hochanadel; 3 brothers, Steven M. Hochanadel and wife, Gloria, Scott G. Hochanadel and Bret C. Hochanadel and wife, Patti; sister, Monica (Hochanadel) Padden and husband, Andrew; nieces and nephews, Adam Hochanadel, Owen Padden, Dylan Hochanadel, Jessica Hochanadel, Lyla Padden, Mason Hochanadel, Madison Hochanadel and Ottilia Padden and a large extended family.
