At the age of 52 and following an incredibly brave battle with Leukemia, Bryan Erland Engelman went home to heaven on January 8th, 2023.
Bryan led a life filled with passion and determination. He was faith-filled. He loved his family. He built a successful business focused on bringing communities and families together. He dedicated much effort in years past to advocating for the safety of young children in child care settings and served as a youth ministry volunteer. In his free time he voraciously took in podcasts, books and videos about real estate investment, financial planning, and wealth management. He was deeply wise and family and friends often sought him out for clarity and advice. Friends also were drawn to Bryan because of his humor, readiness to lend a listening ear, his authenticity, and for his conversational ease.
Bryan resided in Overland Park, KS and is survived by his wife of 25 years (Kim), son (Logan), daughter (Maya). He is preceded in death by his firstborn daughter Lexie, his mother Mary Ellen and father Erland. His siblings Brent Engelman (late Natalie) and Becky Suddarth (Nathan) will miss him terribly as will his nieces and nephews (Uncle B was the best!), extended family and many, many friends.
Bryan loved to hunt in Western Kansas with his friends, travel with his family, workout at the gym, watch college basketball (particularly KU), root on the Kansas City Royals, play golf, and relax in good conversation with great friends. The family takes comfort in knowing that Bryan now is wholly healed and reunited in heaven with his sweet Lexie, dancing and celebrating like there’s no tomorrow.
In remembrance of Bryan’s life, the family suggests contributions to Logan and Maya’s college fund (checks may be made out to Kim Engelman with ‘college fund’ noted as a memo on the check) or charitable contributions to Child Care Aware of America.
