Buddy Hockett

Buddy Arthur Hockett joined the United States Air Force in 1958 where he served as an Air Policeman for 4 years. After leaving the Air Force, he joined the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department in the 87th Police Officer Recruitment Class. Buddy was a police officer for 30 years when he retired. After only a year, he decided to return to KCPD to work in a civilian capacity until 2009 where he decided to retire permanently after serving his community for 45 years.

Shortly after joining the police department, he married Patricia Ann Stephens on July 12, 1964. They spent nearly 45 wonderful years together until Pat passed away in June of 2009. Buddy is survived by his two sons, Timothy Hockett and his wife Natalie of Kansas City, MO, James Hockett and his wife Tonya of Republic, MO and his daughter Kimberly Richmond and husband Donald of Kansas City, MO. He has 2 granddaughters, Tabitha Marie Hockett and Sarah Elizabeth Neale both of Des Moines, IA. He also has one living sibling, Mark Hockett and his wife Sandra of Lumberton, TX.
